Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Dublin public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Facility Naming Policy
Dublin has named parks informally since 1983 — think Shannon, Kolb, and Dolan — but has never had a formal City Council policy for naming or renaming parks and facilities. The commission was set to review a draft policy and recommend it (or not) to the City Council.
ICE detention facility opposition
Dublin City Council is drawing a line in the sand against a new ICE detention facility. They're concerned about how it could affect the people living there.
ICE detention center opposition
Dublin's City Council is drawing a line in the sand, officially opposing the use of a local closed prison as an ICE detention center. They're making it clear they don't want this facility in their community.
City Manager Hiring
Dublin's got a new city manager, the top exec who handles all the daily operations. This hire is a major move that will shape how the city functions moving forward.
